:: WELCOME to IPOH :: Part 6 ::

Lang Mountain (Gunung Lang) Recreational Park is located at Jalan Kuala Kangsar besides the North South Highway. Lang Mountain has a natural scenic view as its backdrop, comprising of limestone hills and lake, which attract visitors, both locally and from overseas. This 28-hectare park is developed jointly by Ipoh City Council and National Landscape Department in 1999. The main attractions here are the unexplored limestone hills range and lake. This park was officially opened by Sultan Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.
New development process is carried out under phase two programme. Various efforts have been made to combine the natural splendour with the modern and traditional elements. Along the park’s main access, there are a variety of colourful bougainvilleas plants, and 85 heliconia species which were especially imported from overseas.
Sweet smelling plants provide pleasant aromatherapy along the pathways. Amongst the experience that must not be missed by visitors is to take a boat ride around the lake which was used to be a mine before reaching the park area.
There are a variety of fishes, apart from lizards and snakes, in the lake. The hills at the park are decorated with natural flora and fauna. In the afternoon, visitors could see monkeys and birds, and if one is lucky, could even see some eagles. What is interesting, plants like orchids and local fruit trees are labelled with their name / species.
::A special thanks to my friends for the Gunung Lang Tour::

There's no entrance fees to be paid unless you decide to take a boat trip.. It's only cost you around RM2/person if I'm not mistaken..
